The Summer House is a gorgeous two-bedroomed luxury holiday villa set on a hillside above the exclusive and famous sailing village of Fiscardo (Fiskardo) on the spectacularly beautiful island of Kefalonia. Kefalonia (or as it sometimes otherwise spelt Cephalonia and Kefallinia) has been made famous in recent times as the setting for Louis De Berniere's novel Captain Corelli's Mandolin and the Nicolas Cage film of the same name. Both the island and Fiscardo are steeped in history and your holiday home during your stay with us will become part of that rich tapestry in a spot that has so far managed to escape the ravages of mass tourism - long may this continue.
From the moment you arrive your senses will all be assaulted. The incredible vistas along the coastline; the heady scents of jasmine, wild thyme, citrus blossom, mimosa; the sound and comfort of the cicadas calling to each other across the olive groves that cover the island, down the Kefalonian valley to Evreti Bay and round to Fiscardo; the intense blues and turquoises as the sky melds into the crystal clear Ionian sea; the whitewashed walls inside the villa contrasting starkly with the vibrant colours of the sea and Ithaca; the tinkling of goat bells on the hillsides around you; even the cacophony of Greek being spoken at volume and speed by the locals immediately transports you to a world that is a million miles away from that from whence you came.
